We treat young people for a variety of gynaecological conditions. Dr Carole Gilling-Smith, Director of the Agora, is a consultant gynaecologist with many years of experience treating problems that can affect young women when they reach puberty. With teenagers of her own, Carole is able to discuss these sensitively and appropriately, and in the strictest confidence. Conditions that are commonly treated include:
- Menstrual disorders such as heavy or irregular periods, or amenorrhoea (no periods)
- Excessive facial or body hair
We are also able to offer advice about contraception or other sexual health issues. Patients can be accompanied by a parent or guardian if they wish and any tests, such as a pelvic scan or blood test, can be arranged if required.
